Midtown Crossing is proud to be the permanent home for one of the beautifully-designed hearts that make up the Nebraska by Heart public art project. Artist Shelley Creeger Stoltenberg’s “Jewel of the Heartland” was recently installed in Farnam Court near CRAVE restaurant, 200 S. 31st Ave.
Nebraska by Heart, endorsed by the NE 150 Celebration, is sponsored by Lead Up, which connects youth to college and career, and the Sadie Dog Fund, an organization that celebrates the human-animal bond.
Creeger Stoltenberg, who is also a master gardener, designed her heart using acrylic paints, depicting flowers of various shapes and colors to “show the diversity and beauty that our state sustains.” She says she titled the piece Jewel of the Heartland because “flowers are nature’s jewelry.”
