With an assist from students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), Midtown Crossing is conjuring an especially magical Monday Night at the Movies on July 17. Its first-ever Student Choice Night will feature Academy Award-winning Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the winner in Student Choice Night voting. The Harry Potter spin-off (PG-13) will roll at sunset on the 26-foot inflatable screen in Turner Park.
Now in its sixth year, Monday Night at the Movies is free and open to the public. Sponsor UNO hosted Student Choice Night voting online. In addition to Fantastic Beasts on July 17, the rest of the 2017 lineup includes Casablanca (PG) on July 24 and Finding Dory (PG) on July 31. The first movie of the 2017 season, Moana, drew more than 8,000 people to Turner Park.
Moviegoers can buy dinner, snacks and dessert on-site from Chicago Dawg House and Cold Stone Creamery, as well as enjoy bag toss, ping pong and giant chess on site. As an added convenience, Midtown Crossing offers its guests three hours of free garage parking. On-street parking is also free after 9 p.m.
