Restaurant to give away free subs to the first 100 customers
Pickleman’s Gourmet Café is celebrating the grand opening of its new Midtown Crossing location by offering free subs to the first 100 customers today – Thursday, January 18.
Customers may choose one free sub, either Turkey, Ham or Veggie. Limit one free sub per person.
The Midtown Crossing location, at 3201 Farnam Street, Suite 6104, marks five locations in Nebraska – all locally owned and operated by Alex Harrington.
When deciding on Midtown Crossing for his next Pickleman’s location, Harrington said, “I love the feel of the neighborhood at Midtown Crossing. The people, the concerts, the events, the local shops are all fantastic. I love the sense of community and being part of a place where we can make a significant impact. We want to help make the neighborhood a better place and give back however we can.”
Pickleman’s expanded to Nebraska in October 2010. At 22 years old, Alex Harrington opened his first restaurant at Centennial Mall and O Street in downtown Lincoln. From there, he opened his flagship Pickleman’s location at 15th and Farnam in the historic Barker Building. The restaurant was an instant success with the people of the Old Market and the Central Business District, paving the way for further development. Harrington followed with locations in Aksarben Village (2015), 114th & Dodge (2017) and Midtown Crossing (2018). He plans to expand to Des Moines, Iowa, next.
Pickleman’s truly is a family business. Harrington’s brother, Doug Stritzel created Pickleman’s in 2005 and acts as the Pickleman’s Franchisor.
For the Harrington family, love of a good sandwich runs deep. Harrington met his wife, Catherine, because she was a regular at his first Pickleman’s location. It was a match made in sandwich heaven. Alex prefers the No. 11 Italian Club while Catherine favors the No. 15 Buffalo Chicken. Their son, Henry (2 years old), favors the No. 9 Italian Beef and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
