Omaha, Neb. – A popular item on Omaha’s holiday wish list – a tradition that is both nostalgic and new – is returning to Midtown Crossing: Miracle on Farnam, presented by The Afternoon.
Starting November 17, guests can enhance their holiday mood by strolling past a parade of dazzling window displays, each storefront masterpiece a showcase of artistry and imagination. Locally-owned gift shop The Afternoon is the proud presenting sponsor.
"Since moving to Midtown Crossing, we've discovered many ways to participate in our community, but so far, none has been as big or as bright as Miracle on Farnam,” said Jen Go, store manager. “When we were approached about bringing Miracle on Farnam back, we absolutely could not pass up this opportunity to give Omaha a unique, free, beautiful holiday celebration during our favorite season.”
Season-long Miracle on Farnam, with its “Perfect Gift” theme, will feature 20+ original window displays planned by local nonprofits, students and individual artists. Inviting a stroll on Farnam from Turner Boulevard to 33rd Street, the displays will be available for viewing all day, every day through New Year’s Day. Midtown Crossing is celebrating the debut with a Family Fun Day on Nov. 17.
Family Fun Day activities:
“Miracle on Farnamis our way of celebrating community and activating Farnam Street withgood cheer, togetherness and tradition – a holiday collection of everything good,” said Molly Skold, Midtown Crossing’s vice president of marketing and communications.
People’s Choice, determined by online voting, will be awarded $1,000 with second and third place prizes of $500 and $250, respectively.
