On Wednesday, November 21st, Heartland B-cycle celebrated the launch of their biggest expansion to date. There is now a total of 70 stations in the Omaha Metro to provide reliable active transportation and a fun recreation option for the community. Three of the 70 stations are located in or near Midtown Crossing at 32nd & Farnam, 34th & Farnam, and 36th & Farnam.
Heartland B-cycle is the Metro’s bike share system that enables residents & visitors alike to engage in active transportation around Omaha. Bikes may be picked up at a Heartland B-cycle station and then returned to any station in the system. Try out the system by grabbing a FUN! Pass at any kiosk or on the BCycle app for 24 hours of unlimited 1-hour rides for just $6. Monthly and Annual passes are also available on the BCycle App or at www.HeartlandBCycle.com. All pass types include unlimited 1-hour rides with a fee of $4 per each additional hour you ride.
The additional stations in Midtown Crossing will further connect residents and visitors to the rest of Omaha. The expansion stations connect with existing and future transit stations to provide a reliable link in Omaha’s public transportation network. “This expansion helps more people to connect to what matters in life through improved connections to Metro Transit, connecting talent to work,” said Daniel Lawse, Metro Transit Board Chair and Chief Century Thinker at Verdis Group. “And, whether you use the system or not, this partnership between the City, Heartland B-cycle and Metro Transit makes it easier for you to connect to what matters in your life.”
