A long-standing tradition dating back to the mid-1980s, “Kamikaze Christmas” took place the last workday before Christmas at midtown-area establishments, including the Chicago Bar. Mutual employees from every department and every rank would gather to celebrate the holidays – and late arrivals would drink kamikazes to catch up with the party. The informal gathering eventually came to be known as “Kamikaze Christmas”.
Thanks to a dedicated group, the tradition lives on – near the original location and likely with some of the same faces! All are welcome!
