The Afternoon opened in Omaha in 1962 as an art gallery with the addition of a few worldly goods. Everyone wonders why their store is called The Afternoon. The name is a reflection of the original operating hours--it was only open in the afternoon. From the beginning merchandise has been distinctive and eclectic. Continuing to sell unique and wonderful items and to provide their customers with the pleasure of discovering them is their mission.

Blanc Burgers + Bottles
Currently located in Kansas City, Blanc is known for it’s world-famous burgers. Dressed up and specialty burgers, a long list of beers and specialty bottled waters and classic All-American sides. It’s all in the details, however, their hand made ketchup, pickles and fries are a must try! Projected to open in November 2010.

Callahan Financial Planning is a new Omaha-based firm providing financial planning and investment management services. As a Nebraska registered investment adviser (RIA), the firm maintains a stringent standard of fiduciary responsibility to each client, a strict principle of conflict-free financial planning and a view that commissions and hidden compensation have no place in financial planning. Upon opening, the firm plans to host a series of educational events in financial planning in its on-site classroom. Projected to open September 2010.

Cantina Laredo serves authentic Mexican dishes in a sophisticated atmosphere. They offer daily fish specials, grilled chicken and steaks complimented by signature sauces such as chipotle-wine with Portobello mushrooms or sautéed artichoke hearts and roasted red bell peppers. / Rocky Mountain Chocolate
Cold Stone Creamery and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory are set to open a single, co-branded location in Midtown Crossing. Cold Stone Creamery’s “super premium” ice cream is made fresh in the store everyday. At the customer’s direction -- and much to their delight -- it can be blended on a frozen granite stone with fruit, nuts, candy, cookies and brownie. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory component adds an extensive line of premium chocolates and other confectionery products to the retail mix. Projected to open late October 2010.
