>>What is Jazz on the Green?

Jazz on the Green is Omaha’s popular outdoor concert series, a summer tradition dating back to 1985. For years, it was held on the lawn of the Joslyn Art Museum. In 2010, it made the move to a revitalized and expanded Turner Park, the centerpiece of the Midtown Crossing development.

>> Why the switch from Joslyn Art Museum to Turner Park?

Omaha Performing Arts announced, in January 2010, that it would adopt the concert series from Joslyn Art Museum, a move designed to expand the event’s reach in the community. Now, in partnership with Midtown Crossing and with lead sponsorship from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Mutual of Omaha and Omaha Steaks, Jazz on the Green has found a larger, centrally located home in Turner Park. This change of venue ensures the future of the Omaha favorite while enhancing the audience experience.

>> Is admission still free?

Absolutely!

>> When is Turner Park open for seating?

Seating in the center bowl of Turner Park, the circular area with a direct view of the stage, will be permitted beginning at 5 PM. The green spaces outside the bowl will be available before 5 PM on the day of the concert.

>> Can I still bring my own refreshments?

You know it! Bring your own picnic or take advantage of our nearby restaurants who will be selling some mouth-watering options. And feel free to bring your own beverage (only beer, wine and champagne are permitted on the grounds of Turner Park). Revel in the experience of good food and outstanding, live entertainment in a beautiful, outdoor setting. It simply doesn’t get any better than this.

>> What can't I bring?
We ask that you NOT bring/use:
• Tents. (They affect the site lines of other guests.)
• Stakes. (They present a tripping hazard.)
• Open flames. (i.e. no hibachis and citronella candles)
• Hard liquor. (Only beer, wine and champagne are allowed in Turner Park)

>> What about parking?

Midtown Crossing offers convenient and secure parking for more than 3,000 vehicles. Our two parking garages are easily accessible from 33rd, Farnam and Harney Streets. In both garages, the first three hours are free, and visitors pay only $1 for each hour thereafter (with a maximum fee of $6). Ample metered parking is available along Farnam Street and within Turner Park, accessible from 31st Avenue. Metered parking is short-term (max. 2 hours) and is monitored Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. $5 Valet parking is also available at Farnam Court from 5pm to close. Please see the Map Section for all locations.

Mutual of Omaha will have also its surface parking lots and parking garage open to the public for free beginning at 5 p.m. Mutual of Omaha's surface lots are located at 36th and Dodge Streets; between 35th Avenue and 34th Street off of Dodge; and at 35th and Farnam Streets. The parking garage is accessible from 35th Avenue between Dodge and Farnam Streets.

>> Is Midtown Crossing running its free event shuttle during Jazz on the Green?
